POSTURE
POSTURE
The posture is the capacity of the dancer to achieve and maintain a vertical order of the body in static and movement, including the characteristics of each dance style.
Usually the posture is identified with being straight, but this is not exactly like that.
The body always acts in opposition to compensate itself, so the posture is the ability of controlling this corporal oppositions on every moment with the purpose of transmitting a constant presence at the stage.
Although the posture is a general concept, each style has its own peculiar way of maintaining yourself visible and present at the stage. We will study in a detailed way this positional distinctions of each dance style from the easiest to the most difficult.
SPINS AND TURNS
LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS
SIMPLE AND CONTINUES SPINS
Today we will work on the first type of spin: Simple and Continues Spins. We will apply the 3 LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS and we will see all the exercises in music
LEVEL 4 OF SIMPLE AND CONTINUES SPINS
Today we will apply the SIMPLE AND CONTINUES SPINS to the 5 Latin dances. We will see how we can make the same turn and have some small differences depending on what dance we are performing. In the end we will see all the examples in music.
THREE STEP TURN
We continue with the work of Spins and Turns, today with the Three Step Turn. Typical turn that we constantly use in the 5 dances. We will apply the 3 LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS and at the end we will see all the exercises in music
LEVEL 4 OF THREE STEP TURN
Today we will apply the THREE STEP TURN to the 5 Latin dances. We will see how we can make the same turn and have some small differences depending on what dance we are performing. In the end we will see all the examples in music
FOUR STEP TURN
Today we work the Four Step Turn. We do 4 weight changes for one turn. Similar in many ways to the Three Step Turn but instead of 3 steps we use 4. More complex turn. We will apply the 3 LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS and at the end we will see all the exercises is music
LEVEL 4 OF FOUR STEP TURN
Today we will apply the FOUR STEP TURN to the 5 Latin dances. We will see how we can make the same turn and have some small differences depending on what dance we are performing. In the end we will see all the examples in music
BACKWARD WALK TURNING
The BACKWARD WALK TURNING is a type of turn that we will see in Rumba and Chachachá. Today we will work all the LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS and we will see all the exercises in music.
FORWARD WALK TURNING, PART 1
Today we will work on the FORWARD WALK TURNING, a type of turn typical of Rumba and Chachachá. We will see all the different options and possibilities of doing the Forward Walk Turning and we will also work all the LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS. In the next class: FORWARD WALK TURNING, PART 2, we will see all the exercises in music.
FORWARD WALK TURNING, PART 2
We already know all the different possibilities of how to do a FORWARD WALK TURNING and at all levels. Today it’s time to practice in music.
INSIDE AND OUTSIDE TURN
Today we will work on these two types of turns. It is characterized by not having weight change from one leg to the other, the turn occurs on the Standing Leg. So depending on the direction we turn we are doing an Inside or an Outside Turn. We will apply to these turns the 3 LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS and we will see all the exercises in music.
LEVEL 4 OF INSIDE AND OUTSIDE TURN
Today we will learn how we can apply INSIDE AND OUTSIDE TURN in the 5 Latin dances. We will see what small differences we find depending on the dance we want to interpret.
PENCIL TURN
Today we present the PENCIL TURN, a turn that, like the previous ones, does not contain weight change from one leg to the other, it turns on the Standing Leg. We will see its characteristics and apply the 3 LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS.

Today we present three types of Swivels. We will understand how they are made and we will work them from the 3 LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS.

Today we will see all the exercises of all levels in music. Remember that before we must practice and understand the exercises of SWIVEL

SPIRAL
Today we start the work of the SPIRAL. We are going to know the different types of Spiral and apply the 3 LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS in orther to understand how to execute it in the best possible way.

Today we will dance all the types of SPIRAL that we have already practiced and learned through the LEVELS OF SPINS AND TURNS in music.

CHOREOGRAPHY OF SPINS AND TURNS IN RUMBA
Today we will learn the first choreography that contains all the turns worked. We will learn WHAT, WHERE and WHEN. In the next class: SPINS AND TURNS CHOREOGRAPHY IN RUMBA IN MUSIC, we will see it performed by levels and in music.
